jugo natural

This is possibly the thing I will miss the most after these past 3 weeks. I discovered it in Spain with Jenny last summer, and was absolutely delighted to find it here in Chile as well. What is it, you ask? It´s fruit juice, except it´s made directly from the fruit, nothing else, right there for you, sort of like a smoothie. Except it´s not thick like a smoothie, it´s juice. And it´s awesome b/c you´re quite literally drinking up fruit. I ordered one made from apples in my first days here. When they brought it it was bright green, then I could see it turning brown over the hour we sat for lunch, just as a normal apple does when you cut it and let it sit for a few minutes. Tells you how fresh this stuff is. Zach and I have been ordering these left and right, epsecially since eating out all the time it´s hard to get much fruit in your diet. I´m gonna have to figure out hyow to make them myself... I guess you just blend up fruit like in a smoothie, but add more water and blend it longer? Hmmm....

    to make the juice all you need is a food processor. put in any kind of fruit or veggies and whiz away! the skin/seeds are retained and only the juices are extracted, no need to add water.

  2. There was an article in the paper yesterday about a teacher whose contract was not renewed for next year because the parents complained the teacher graded too harshly. 98% of her kids passed the TAKS, as opposed to 88% of the rest of the school. She still won't have her contract renewed.
